Robyn Heffernan is the Fire Weather Services Senior Advisor for the National Weather Service. She is co located with interagency fire partners at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, ID. Robyn leads new initiatives in fire weather services and informs fire weather and fire environment science policy. In addition, Robyn oversees the transition of new science and technology into fire weather operations, the dissemination of fire weather information to key customers and partners, and the training of fire weather forecasters, including Incident Meteorologists (IMETs). Robyn specializes in interagency coordination and strategic planning and serves on several national teams including the White House Wildfire Resilience Interagency Working Group, the National Wildfire Coordinating Group Fire Environment Committee, and participated as a Commission member on the Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission. Previously, Robyn worked for the Bureau of Land Management, in the Predictive Services program, where she assisted in managing the national fire weather program for the federal land management agencies.
