Mr. Lindley is the Science & Operations Officer at the National Weather Service forecast office in Norman, Oklahoma. He has served at five forecast offices in Oklahoma and Texas during his 28 year career. Todd has led development of novel fire weather prediction techniques, innovated use of GOES-R era satellite-based fire detection and monitoring, and previously chaired the National Wildfire Coordinating Group's Satellite Data Task Team. Mr. Lindley was the 2023 recipient of the American Meteorological Society's Charles L. Mitchell Award for “seminal fire weather forecasting science and innovative applications” and is the most recently recipient of the Society's Forecaster Award for Exceptional Specific Prediction for "life-saving fire warnings" during the historic February 2024 wildfires in Texas and Oklahoma. Lindley was also awarded the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security & Department of Emergency Management's Oklahoma Whole Community Preparedness Award for “building statewide resilience.”
