In this open and heartfelt session, I will share valuable lessons learned from balancing the demanding life of a firefighter with the equally challenging roles of relationships outside of work. Unfortunately, good fire-ground tactics don’t always equal success at home. If you believe that your job as a spouse/partner and/or parent is the most important job that you do, then I will share lessons learned and watch-outs that I wish would have been shared with me when I was young. Drawing from my own experiences, I will discuss how I learned to balance high professional standards for firefighters with patience and understanding at home and offer practical advice on managing stress and improving communication. This session aims to provide valuable insights offering practical advice on maintaining healthy dynamics outside of work while excelling in your career.
