Division Chief Bob Olme has 40 years in the fire service currently serving as a Division Chief and Program Manager for Colorado Task Force 1, the FEMA USAR taskforce in Colorado. He is appointed as an employee of West Metro Fire Rescue, serving nearly 298,000 citizens in 100 square miles. Division Chief Olme is responsible for all aspects of local, regional and national response for the task force.
Prior to joining West Metro in 2016, Div. Chief Olme had served as Chief of the Wheat Ridge Fire Department, a Division Chief at Fairmount Fire Rescue, a Deputy Chief at North-West Fire Rescue, Fire Chief of Sterling Fire Rescue and 14 years of volunteer service in Monte Vista. He holds a degree in Funeral Service Science from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University as well as holding the Chief Fire Officer designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
Division Chief Olme is a past president of the Denver Metro Fire Chief’s Association, an executive board member of the Colorado State Fire Chief’s Association and is a graduate of the Public Safety Leadership Program from the University of Denver as well as Leadership Jeffco. He also has served on the executive board on Colorado’s Standing Committee on First Responder Safety.
