Andrew Fairband has 20 years of volunteer, contract and career service. He spent 10 years at Evans Fire District as a volunteer and part-time fireman. During his time at Evans Fire, he took a leave of absence and spent 2 years overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan as a contract fireman. Andrew Fairband was hired full-time with the South Adams County Fire Department in 2014 and has held the positions of fireman, Lieutenant, Captain, and recently promoted Battalion Chief, while being a part of the North Area Tech Rescue Team, hose and nozzle team, and the PEER Fitness team. Additionally, within South Adams, he has spent time in the training division as a training Lieutenant, Captain, and as well as the Interim Training Chief. He has been part of 5 career lateral and entry level academies as a cadre instructor, lead cadre instructor, and academy chief. He has also taught in the North Area Fire Officer Development course (Adams County Fire, Brighton, Thornton, Westminster, North Metro, South Adams County Fire). In 2021, Andrew Fairband Graduated from Columbia Southern University with a BS in Organizational Leadership, with honors. He was awarded Firefighter of the Year by his peers in 2020 and has received two distinguished service awards in 2020 for the South Adams “Daily Stretch Hose Manual”, the 2020 North Area Fire Academy, and in 2022 for the SAW Fire academy which was SACFD’s first “inhouse” fire academy. Lastly, Andrew Fairband, as well as other personnel, received a unit citation award in 2023 for the 2 alarm Dahlia Street Fire. Andrew Fairband is excited to continue his pursuit as a battalion chief, instructor, and a lifelong learner. He currently lives in Commerce City, Colorado with his wife and 3 dogs.
