Leadership Education for Company and Chief Officers
Step into the forefront of fire service leadership with The FLC’s LEAD Series. After years of offering leadership education FLC has developed a certificate program incorporating the feedback of current leaders, educators and attendees.
The LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy and Development) Series is dynamic, robust and essential for fire service leaders looking to meet their professional development goals, grow as leaders in their department and serve the evolving needs of their communities.
The Company Officer and Chief Officer tracks have two levels each and one level of each track will be offered annually at FLC. Participants must attend two years of FLC to complete each track. Upon completion of each level attendees will get a certificate, custom challenge coin and pin to reflect their accomplishment.

Program Change for 2024
After many years of offering the IAFC's Officer Development Program it's moving in a new direction and will no longer be offered at FLC. If you are finishing an ODP program and attending FLC, we will provide credit for your years of participation in the IAFC ODP program at Fire Leadership Challenge and provide a LEAD Series Certificate of Participation and Completion in the Company Officer or Chief Series. Similarly, you will receive a coin and pin upon completion to reflect your years of professional development excellence. Through the LEAD Series we will continue to provide the exceptional leadership courses, speakers and networking that have become synonymous with our conference.
If you have specific questions regarding the continuation of your specific professional development needs, please email Michelle Biersner at michelle@cofirechiefs.org.
